ThredUp Insider replaced ThredUp Rewards in April 2025 ([details below](https://thredup.kustomer.help/en_us/what-is-thredup-insider-HJiY3bRq2#:~:text=What%20happened%20to%20ThredUp%20Rewards%3F)).  **How do I qualify for ThredUp Insider?** ThredUp Insider membership is free. You can join by creating an account [here](https://www.thredup.com/my/settings) (or making your first purchase). As soon as you sign up, you’re a Star member and with access to discounts and perks. By spending more, you can reach new tiers and unlock even bigger exclusive benefits. See tier benefits [here](https://www.thredup.com/rewards/benefits).  **What are the ThredUp Insider tiers?** The three tiers are: Star, Superstar, VIT (Very Important Thrifter!). You are placed into a tier based on how much you spend at ThredUp in a calendar year. The higher the tier, the more exclusive benefits you’ll get. As soon as you reach and enter into a new tier, your new tier status will last through the following calendar year.  Please note: Your spend towards your tier is pending until the corresponding order’s return window ends. It will then be counted towards your annual spend.  **How can I move to the next tier?** Spend $200 in a calendar year to become a Superstar. Spend $1,000 in a calendar year to become a VIT (Very Important Thrifter).   **How long does tier status last?** Superstar and VIT (Very Important Thrifter) status lasts for the remainder of the current calendar year and the next full calendar year. Spend $200 in a calendar year to stay a Superstar. Spend $1,000 in a calendar year to stay a VIT (Very Important Thrifter).   For example: If you became a Superstar in 2025, you'll enjoy its benefits through the 2026 calendar year (1/1/2026 to 12/31/2026). The amount you spend in 2026 will determine your status in 2027. E.g. Spending $1000 in 2026 means you'll be a VIT in 2027.  **How is my tier qualifying spend calculated?**  At the time of your order, the order subtotal (the amount of money spent including most credits minus discounts, taxes and fees) will count towards your tier progression. This is considered your pending spend until your return window ends. If you return any items from your order, the cost of those items will be retroactively deducted from your total spend.  Pending Spend = Total Order Cost – (Shipping Fees + Taxes + Discounts)  Annual spend = Pending Spend – Cost of Returned Items  **How do I redeem my annual Clean Out Kit Shopping Credit?** As a Superstar or VIT, you get $15 in shopping credit when sending in your first annual Clean Out Kit or Donation Bag. When your Clean Out Kit / Donation Bag is in transit, you will receive the credit in your account and it will automatically apply to your next purchase.This can be combined with other promotional codes and discounts and expires 30 days after it is granted.  **How do I redeem my annual Birthday Gift Shopping Credit?** All ThredUp Insider members that have previously made at least one purchase receive an annual Birthday gift in the form of a shopping credit. On the first day of your birthday month, through the end of that month, you will have a Birthday Shopping Credit to use on any order placed in that month. The birthday credit is available in the shopping cart and must be redeemed to apply to an order. Once redeemed, the credit must be used in one order and any unused portion will not roll over to future orders. The credit will also expire if not used during your birthday month. Once used, the credit is not refundable. Birthday Shopping credits do not count towards tier qualifying spend. Birthday Shopping Credits can be combined with other promotional codes and discounts. These will be indicated as “VIT Early Access” on the listing. You can also sort by newest first to see all Early Access items at the top of your search results.  **What happened to ThredUp Rewards?** ThredUp Rewards was our legacy loyalty program which was replaced with ThredUp Insider in April 2025. We phased out point earning and point based rewards, which allows us to remain more committed than ever to providing great everyday pricing and frequent discounts and deals. All ThredUp Rewards points expired on **March 31, 2025**, or their expiration date of one year after earning, whichever came first. All **redeemed Rewards, including coupons and credits** expired **March 31, 2025**, or their expiration date, whichever came first.  We have also updated our list of Tier Benefits (while maintaining the Star, Superstar and VIT tiers that were part of ThredUp rewards).
