**Brands**
We accept all brands at ThredUp, although not all brands are eligible for earnings.
Women’s brands: If the brand is not in our system, the item will be listed as “Assorted Brands”. You may send women’s clothing without a brand, but it will be priced lower than items with an identifiable brand. The item will be listed as “Unbranded”.
A handful of brands with very low resale value are ineligible for earnings, but we still list them to try and give them a second life. If an item from the [ineligible brands list](https://www.thredup.com/cleanout/common-ineligible-brands) sells for $20 or more, you’ll still receive earnings.
Kids’ brands: All kids’ clothing must have an identifiable brand tag.
**Categories**
All items must meet our quality standards to be accepted. ThredUp also does not accept these categories:
1. "Free with purchase" promotional items
2. Non-clothing items: toys, books, sports gear, handbag charms, etc.
3. Men’s clothing and accessories
4. Jewelry (except watches)
1. Any jewelry items you see already listed on our site are listed by third-party resellers or are only available via Rescue boxes
5. Items without sizes (exceptions made for luxury brands and Lululemon)
6. Undergarments and slips
7. Sleepwear, slippers, and robes
8. Wedding dresses, Ballgowns, Gowns with trains
9. Tailored items
10. Work uniforms
11. Adult costumes
12. Local or niche clothing
13. Clothing with graphics or reference to local teams and places that do not have a broad national audience
14. Items that feature language or content that is deemed inappropriate for a family-friendly audience
15. Tablet and phone cases
16. Hair accessories
17. Maternity bands
18. Homemade or altered items
19. Counterfeit items or accessories
20. Items obtained illegally or containing sensors
ThredUp accepts all women’s and kids’ clothing that is not mentioned in the above list, including:
1. All women’s clothing, including bodysuits, and swimwear
2. Formal, Event, and Bridesmaid dresses
3. Maternity and plus-size clothing
4. Matching sets (such as a top with matching bottoms, however, will not be accepted or listed together)
1. _Exceptions:_ 2-piece swimsuits that both meet quality/condition standards and are both accepted
5. Shoes (we do not recommend sending shoes in original shoe boxes)
6. Watches (no smartwatches)
7. Tights (New with tags only)
8. Accessories, including belts, hats, scarves, gloves, and sunglasses
9. Bags, including wallets, laptop bags, weekenders, coin purses, makeup bags, diaper bags, and backpacks (we welcome dust bags and authentication cards!)
10. Costumes (kids only)
