**Direct Listing items are sold as final sale (if buyer protection is not opted in by seller or buyer)** and cannot be returned under standard conditions.

*   Some buyers may purchase **Return Protection** at checkout, which allows them to return items to ThredUp within the specified return period.
    
*   In certain cases, Direct Listing sellers may choose to cover the Return Protection and/or Shipping cost for buyers as an additional service.
    

> **Important Note:** Items purchased with Return Protection can only be returned to **ThredUp directly**—they **cannot** be returned to the original seller.
